NRA Basic Pistol Course

LASC is holding an NRA Basic Pistol Class.  The fee for the class is $25 and is payable prior to the class.  Class starts at 8 AM and will conclude about 4 PM.  Class will be held at the LASC classroom, indoor range, and an outdoor pistol range.

Registration is open for a maximum of 10 students.  We ask that only students attending the class are allowed as there is not sufficient room for guests and guests may detract from the learning environment.

We will work through lunch and all are invited to bring food and drinks.

The NRA Basic Pistol Class Topics Include:

  • Safety rules
  • Elements of marksmanship
  • Understanding of firearm types
  • Nomenclature
  • Administrative functions
  • Manipulations (locking the slide open on semi-automatics, opening the cylinder on revolvers)
  • Firing
  • Cleaning

Required Equipment:

  • Hearing / eye protection
  • Close-toed shoes
  • Firearm (if needed we may be able to provide a firearm for your use)
  • Magazines/speed loaders for your firearm
  • Ammunition for your firearm (if needed we may be able to provide ammo)

Recommended Equipment:

  • Hat (flying brass)
  • High neck shirt (flying brass)
  • Water / snacks / lunch
  • Sunscreen
