Member Information
Membership in the Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club is open to anyone with an interest in shooting or archery. The only requirements are safety and compliance with the range safety rules. There is no initiation fee, and members are welcome year round. Memberships are annual (from April 1 to March 31 of the following year). The Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club is affiliated with the NRA, and in order to maintain our affliation, a certain percentage of the membership is required to be NRA members. As an incentive, LASC provides discounted rates for both Individual and Family memberships for those with a current NRA membership.
If you have additional questions, please contact the Membership Secretary at:

Rules of Membership
-
All new and former members (who have not been a member for one year) must attend a safety orientation before being allowed to use the range. Adult family members who want to use the club facilities on their own must individually attend the required orientation. Minors and adults who do not attend the required orientation must be accompanied by family members who have attended the required orientation meeting.
Group members must get their orientation from the primary member responsible for the group membership. Their use of the club facility is under the direction of that person. -
The Sportsmen's Club is fenced and gated. The combination to the locks on the gates will only be given to members. The gates must be closed and locked at all times, except during a club sanctioned event which is open to the public.
-
As a Sportsmen's Club member, you must wear your badge while on any part of the club grounds. Guests of members are not required to wear a badge but must be with the member they came with, at all times.
-
A single Sportsmen's Club member may only escort two guests at a time and are responsible for the safety of their guests.
-
The Sportsmen's Club is open only to members and guests. Use of the club by non-members with payment of a daily range fee has been discontinued. The club will continue to be open to non-members for participation in the regularly scheduled shooting activities.
Member Handbook
The Los Alamos Sportsmen's club member handbook encompasses a wide range of information about the club and rules for the club, ranges, and membership. All new members are encouraged to read this handbook prior to joining LASC.

After the orientation, you'll be issued a badge, a combination to access the gates, and a key (if purchased, for those who wish to access the indoor range/bathrooms). New members are strongly encouraged to participate in volunteer activities during their initial membership in order to receive work credit for their renewal rates. Please check out the Work Credit Program for more information.
Renewing your Membership
Membership renewal notices are mailed to current members once a year in late January or early February. This provides members an opportunity to renew their membership in person at the Annual Membership Dinner. (Please see the calendar for details. The dinner is usually held on the first Thursday evening in February). Those who return the renewal forms in a timely manner will receive an annual validation sticker for their membership badge and the new combination for the gates by April 1. The purpose for sending members the computer generated renewal notice is so that members can confirm that their membership information.
Previous members who have allowed their memberships to lapse must attend an orientation session. This is because non-renewed membership data is flushed from the database. Thereafter it is not possible to confirm that a new or renewing member has attended the required orientation.
Orientation Sessions
Orientations are scheduled for the first Sunday of the month at 12:00 Noon.
All adult family members who want to use the club facilities on their own
must individually attend the New Member Orientation.
Please either make an appointment with the Orientation Coordinator or use the "Register Now" link in the calendar event for a particular New Member Orientation Session. You can click on the calendar to find the available sessions. Once a session is selected, you will find a map to the club, contact information, and a way to register for that particular date.
