Trap & Skeet Machine Setup Clinic

Hi,

I just wanted to introduce my self and ask for some advice.

I plan on attending the Shotgun Clinic this weekend and possibly shoot after. I have never shot skeet before, but after watching many people at the range I am very interested in trying it out. I own a Remington Model 1100 LT-20. Is this ok to shoot with at the range? I hope to meet everyone and learn exactly what I need to participate. Also is there any specific ammo I need to bring or purchase?

Thank you,

Chris

For skeet the Remington 1100 LT-20 is a very good choice. Shells with #9 shot is what you would use though I have had good results with #8 shot. The biggest question would be the choke. If it accepts screw-in chokes, screw in the improved cylinder choke unless your set includes a skeet choke. If it is a fixed choke, I am hoping that it isn't a full choke. That choke constriction makes it very difficult to hit targets in skeet.
